CTCR formally became a sponsor and supporter of new technologies by creating a department of Nanotechnology; the science that has allowed many sectors to widen the possible application of their technologies. By focusing on such a small scale, new materials can be easily configured with improved characteristics, allowing a great manufacturing cost reduction and an enhancement of production systems.
When applying the new techniques from nanotechnology, the footwear industry will witness a renovation of current practices, not only regarding design and ergonomic aspects but also by using the new materials to respond to the consistently demanding appetite and needs of consumers.
Nanotechnology conveys extraordinary advantages for the footwear industry. By developing products with innovating characteristics and added value, different applications will be automatically used in the footwear industry to improve the basic material characteristics or to offer customized footwear.
Some of the applications we may find with this new technology:
- Bactericide insoles, also bacterium-static or catalytic insoles to prevent bad odors.
- Hydrophobic or anti-stain tissues, sweat repulsive or humidity dispelling
- Anti-static insoles
- Controlled release of odors
- Footwear with thermal protection, humidity sensors or thermal conductors.
- Materials resistant to any chemical attack, anti wear-and-tear, isolators, anti-perforation, higher resistance and durability.
Fashion and design are both the starting point and the goal of the creative and commercial strategies of our regional footwear companies. For this reason, CTCR provides designers and modelers with knowledge of industry trends, as they evolve day by day.
With the collaboration of leading design consultants skilled in the investigation, analysis and prediction of design trends,,we are able to provide our companies in the region with the upcoming creative and fashion trends that will dominate the outlook in the major fashion capitals.
