The Department of Electronics and Automation from the CTCR has worked on innovating the cementing process. The aim of the project was unifying the process of reactivation of adhesives with the cement pressing, so that the activating process is carried out simultaneously in the cement press operator. Through electromagnetic induction the adhesives will hereby be reactivated and pressed at the same stage. This will lead to a reduction in energy and heat loss, and the acceleration of the whole cementing process.
The project, financed by Ader, the regional development and innovation agency, counts with the participation of two companies, Calzarobotics (Rada Mantenimiento), in the field of the robotics technology and Notton (Aros), in charge of the cement pressing tests and as valuator of the innovative process.
