The Footwear Technology Centre of La Rioja (CTCR), a non-profit organization, first opened in January 16th 2007 with the clear vocation to provide technology solutions and meet the demands of businesses within the footwear sector.
Whilst adapting and evolving in a constantly changing market, the CTCR demonstrates a clear commitment to promoting Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&i) as a process for sustainable growth and the strengthening of the competitiveness of companies.
As of today, the CTCR manages to provide service to 98% of companies in the region thanks to a successful collaboration among the different stakeholders in the footwear sector, a significant trajectory recognized and unconditionally supported by regional, state and international institutions.
A large proportion of the objectives of the Footwear Technology Centre of La Rioja (CTCR) are based around:
- Boosting R&D&i initiatives and projects.
- Increasing the technology level of companies and the collaboration and cooperation among industry agents, regional, state and international organizations and other technology centers.
- Promoting and ensuring regular training in all areas within the footwear sector.
- Facilitating consulting services so as to determine technological requirements for system optimization.
- Contributing to more sustainable development.
In a quite unusual and very emblematic building, the CTCR shares the space of the surrounding industrial area in El Raposal, in Arnedo (La Rioja), the nerve center of the so called 'town of footwear'.
Initially, the CTCR was constituted as the association for the promotion, research, development and technological innovation of the footwear industry in La Rioja. This legal constitution back in July 2006 remains as the current legal denomination of the CTCR. As a research association, it is a non-profit entity, organized as follows:
